The Weeknd May Have A New Album Finished Once Quarantine Is Over

The Weeknd is making the most of quarantine.

Six months since the release of After Hours, Abel has revealed to Rolling Stone that he may have another album ready by the time that the COVID-19 pandemic ends. "I might have another album ready to go by the time this quarantine is over," the crooner told the magazine with a smirk. As per the interview, the Canadian star said that he’s spent the last four months "cooped up" at his Los Angeles condo, producing new music out of a makeshift recording studio in between binging Korean horror films. "I'm guilty of wanting to outdo my last album. But it’s never like, 'I've got to do the same type of song.' I'm so happy I’m not like that. My palette is so wide."

Rolling Stone reported that the upcoming LP is a “whole different world from After Hours.” “I’m trying to find a perfect balance with the film and the music, and so far it’s going really well. I think I might have cracked the code,” Tesfaye continued. Less than a year since its release, After Hours has seen all three singles, "Heartless," "Blinding Lights" and "In Your Eyes," met with success.

If that wasn’t enough, the self-proclaimed workaholic said that he’s also been writing a screenplay on the down-low. "I can’t talk about it too much yet,” he teased. "I really want it to be official."
